I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Zabeel International Institute of Management & Technology for organising a very informative and practical FIDIC Contracts course covering the Red Book and Yellow Book. The course was conducted over approximately three weeks of sessions, which was very helpful for me because the topics were clearly explained in a comprehensive and progressive manner, rather than being delivered as a compressed lecture. This allowed me to better understand the key concepts, contract structure, and practical application of FIDIC. I would also like to thank my lecturer, Mr. Thakur Arun Singh, for being very helpful throughout the course. Aside from the comprehensive and well-structured lectures, he also encouraged practical discussions that helped me relate FIDIC principles to my actual project experience in the Philippines. These discussions were very valuable because they helped me better understand how my previous construction, project management, and contract administration experience can be aligned with the application of FIDIC contracts here in the UAE. For the Red Book, the discussion helped me understand its application in Employer-designed construction projects, especially in relation to the Engineer’s role, site instructions, variations, measurement, payment, claims, EOT, taking over, and dispute procedures. For the Yellow Book, Mr. Arun clearly explained the difference between the Yellow Book and the Red Book, particularly the Contractor’s design responsibility, Employer’s Requirements, performance obligations, testing, and the important key points I need to remember for each book. Overall, the training was very informative, practical, and highly relevant to my career transition into the UAE construction industry, especially in understanding how FIDIC contracts are applied in local and international project environments.
My recent advanced communication skill training course journey began with a warm welcome by Dr. Zaheer Choudary. His well-structured training plan and simple yet innovative teaching style made each session both engaging and highly beneficial. He consistently ensured that concepts were communicated clearly and understood through multiple approaches, which greatly enhanced my learning experience.
